Come along to our first All Age Service at St Thomas' Church Penycae. This will be a short service aimed at all ages. It will be a relaxed service, and welcome everyone (not that our regular services don't!). Ash Wednesday is the first day of lent. At an Ash Wednesday service we mark a sign of the cross in ash across the forehead of members of the congregation to remind us that we are in need of repentance. "Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return" is said as the ash is applied to remind us of our own mortality. Join us for this service of penitence, to start the Lenten period of fasting and prayer. All are welcome Come and join us for our big summer fair, as the Hafod Family gathers to celebrate together. There will be stalls, raffles, and games. Entrance is free, The Harvest Service is an opportunity for us together to thank God for all that he has done for us. Not just a Harvest of the land (such as food, water and so on) but also the harvest of love and discipleship in our lives. At this service, it is traditional that people bring offerings of food and other produce to be placed on the alter. Tinned food is preferable. All offerings will be delivered to the local food bank, or used to feed those most in need. The service will be followed by refreshments, everyone is welcome.
